Brandon Kies

Brandon Kies recently received the Eastman School of Music Performer's Certificate, a coveted award recognizing the highest standards in classical solo performance. In 2005 he was accepted into the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan, where he studied with Laurie Sears. His classical studies have taken him to solo performances in: Chicago, Illinois; Toronto, Ontario (Canada); and Orlando, Florida. Not only well-versed in classical style, Brandon was a 2005 recipient of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and has worked with both Bob Mintzer and James Moody in master classes. He is currently a third year student at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, studying under Dr. Chien-Kwan Lin. Brandon is also a member of the Eastman Wind Ensemble, in which he regularly performs.
